Please join us online for a conversation about Rural Ministry!
When: Thursday, Oct. 14 at noon until 1 p.m. Bring your lunch along to the Zoom conversation.
Who: Anyone who is serving in, interested in or curious about small town and rural ministry. We had a conversation a couple of weeks ago when the intensive students were on campus. Students who were not here or able to participate are invited to join in this conversation.
What: It will be a chance for us to connect and meet Pr. Jon Anderson, Luther Seminary’s new Rural Ministry Director. Several students had a chance to meet on campus during the intensives and we want everyone to be aware of others who are in or interested in small town and rural ministry, or are interested in meeting with and learning more about our current students.
Where: The Zoom link for this gathering will be sent out via email.
Conversation Road Map: Holy Stewing
Our conversation will explore the following sketch.
1) We will talk about rural ministry.
2) What is rural ministry?
3) What is one characteristic of rural ministry that you would identify?.
4) What hunches do you have about what Luther is doing well or that has been helpful in your preparation and service in rural and small town contexts?
5) What might you suggest?
6) We will gather an “offering of questions” people have about rural ministry. Your questions will help us all think into the unique gifts and challenges about serving in a rural or small town context.
If you can not join us, we hope to have more conversations in the future.
