Lunch Discussion on Rural Ministry
Luther Seminary is excited to welcome former bishop Jon Anderson to our community to provide strategic leadership to our rural ministry initiatives. Part of his work will be to connecting with students interested in learning more about ministry in rural contexts. With intensives happening this week, Jon would love to gather with any students who want to talk about rural ministry THIS Thursday during lunch. Weather permitting, we will gather outside of OCC at one of the patio tables. Come between 11:30 and 12:30 p.m. and look for a “Rural Ministry” sign. (If weather demands, we will move into the cafeteria.)
Help Us Spread the Word
Sign up to become an ambassador and be part of the fun when Luther Seminary kicks off its sixth annual Give Day on Wednesday, October 13. For 24 hours, this virtual fundraising event is an opportunity for alumni, friends, students, faculty, and staff to support the Current Scholarship Fund. Matches and prizes will be available for donors throughout the day.
Ambassadors act as peer-to-peer influencers through personal and professional networks, relationships, and social media platforms. Leading up to the big day, we need your help in sharing news about the upcoming event, so we’ve put together a wide collection of easy-to-use tools that will help you.
What does an ambassador do?
How much time is needed?
We know everyone is busy, so that’s why we’ve made sure that becoming a Give Day ambassador is simple and requires very little time outside of:
– A brief review of the Give Day toolkit and resources
– Spreading the word leading up to, and on, Give Day!
– Making a gift at giveday.luthersem.edu
How can I make an impact?
– Make a gift on Give Day
– Communicate with your network leading up to, and on, Give Day!
– Email friends, family and colleagues
– Utilize the toolkit provided after you register for more ideas on ways to maximize your personal and professional social media networks
How do I sign up?
It’s easy! Fill out the signup form.

Money and Minimalism Webinar – Free for Students, Faculty, and Staff
Date: Monday, October 11
Time: 10-11:30 a.m.
Location: Zoom – Registration Link
More than just an art movement, minimalism is a growing philosophy and lifestyle that people around the world are choosing over a life of conspicuous consumption, debilitating debt, and over-scheduled calendars. Discover what living a minimalist life might look like for you; explore ways to declutter your living space, simplify your money life, and get rid of things that are anchoring you down.
The Stewardship Leaders Program, in partnership with Lutheran Social Services, is excited about offering this Money and Minimalism webinar free for all Luther students, faculty, and staff. This topic was chosen based on your input through a Financial Wellness survey we did last fall. Thank you so much for telling us what you need!
