September 10 is World Suicide Prevention Day
September 10 is World Suicide Prevention Day.
It is easy during COVID-19 to feel concerned and frustrated. The worries of our world can challenge our mental health. Social isolation, mental illness, and difficult life transitions can play a role in suicide, and we know that connectedness and a sense of belonging can protect against suicide. Hope is available. Hope is a reality.
Today you can join us in creating hope for others by lighting a candle at 8 p.m. near a window to show your support for suicide prevention, to remember a lost loved one, and for the survivors of suicide. You can download a digital banner and candle from the International Association for Suicide Prevention in your preferred language for your social media page.

Library Hours for September
Due to staff scheduling conflicts during RFS and the first week of classes, the library will be closing at 4 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays during the rest of September. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
