As you might have seen on the schedule of course listings for the upcoming academic year, I am planning to lead/teach a travel course early in 2022. Here is additional information that I can provide at this point in time to assist you in your planning.
The trip is tentatively scheduled for January 30 through February 11.
It is too soon to know the total cost per traveler, but I expect that for currently enrolled M.A. and M.Div. students the amount will be around $2,500 (+/- $200), which will include everything except your souvenir shopping and a small number of meals (lunches on the run). (Yes, that price includes airfare, a double-occupancy hotel rooms, ground transportation, guides, and most food.) This cost for students is much less than what a trip would ordinarily cost because of a fellowship available through a partnership with the seminary.
Sign-ups will begin in the fall, and initial deposits will be due then. I will make additional announcements here in the future, when more information becomes known. If you are interested and want to make sure you don’t miss those announcements, send me an email now and I’ll add you to a list of people who want to be kept informed directly.
There are no prerequisites for this travel course. There will be a cap/limit on how many people can participate. Depending on the level of interest, there may be opportunities for nonstudents to participate, too, but at a higher cost (without the fellowship).
