Luther Seminary cares deeply about the financial well-being of all our students and their families. The Stewardship Leaders Program has developed six offerings based on the results of the financial wellness survey sent to all students in October 2020. These opportunities are open to Luther Seminary students and their partners. NOTE: Students graduating in June of 2021 can take advantage of these opportunities through the summer.

Salary Negotiations and Benefits Workshop: Join us on Tuesday, May 18, 6–8:30 p.m. Central for a workshop designed to help you negotiate your salary and benefits. Can’t make it? We will send you a recording. Register here.
Financial Wellness conversation with Grace Pomroy: Grace is the director of the Stewardship Leaders Program at Luther Seminary and a Certified Financial Education Instructor. She brings years of experience and has a passion for all things related to money and ministry. It is always a shame-free zone talking finances with Grace.
LSS Financial Counseling: Work with a certified financial counselor at Lutheran Social Services as part of the new partnership between Luther Seminary and Lutheran Social Services.
Debt Accompaniment Pilot (Part 1): Work with Grace and LSS Financial Counseling to create a plan to reduce the amount of student loan debt you’ll need to borrow during seminary and even begin paying down your debt during seminary. Designed for current and incoming students.
Debt Accompaniment Pilot (Part 2): Work with Grace and LSS Financial Counseling to create a student loan debt repayment plan that is aligned with the salary you can expect to earn after you graduate. Designed for students nearing graduation.
Clergy Tax Information: An opportunity for students preparing for ordained ministry to learn more about the intricacies of clergy taxes and how it might apply to their particular situation. We are partnering with Clergy Financial Resources and will refer students directly to them. NOTE: This is not a tax preparation service. Participation in the Clergy Tax Workshop is helpful but not required.
