Luther Seminary is improving account security by implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA). This security enhancement has been on our roadmap to implement, but is recently being pushed to the forefront as a requirement of our cybersecurity insurance renewal. MFA relies on two forms of authentication: something you know and something you have with you. The something you know is your password. The something you have with you is typically a mobile device (smart phone) to approve authentication requests. This means that even if your password is hacked, your account will remain secure. At this time, only Global Protect VPN users will be required to use MFA. More details will be provided in the coming weeks. Learn more at the Office of Technology’s multi-factor authentication page.
