Staff: Phone calls through your computer
Thanks to a recent upgrade to the seminary phone system, the Office of Technology is pleased to announce that seminary phone extensions can now be used remotely through a computer and softphone application. These phone calls are made over a computer’s sound system and can be used with a wired or Bluetooth headset. There is not a smart phone option planned at this time.
Departments are encouraged to discuss how they might use the remote extensions. Phone system features such as group ringing (which rings multiple phones at the same time or in a particular order) can also be configured for departments. Anyone wishing to have their extension configured for remote access contact helpdesk@luthersem.edu to schedule a time to install and configure the softphone application on your computer.
