Interfaith Dialogue Group
Interested in interfaith dialogue and discussion? My name is Dave McEachron; I’m a first year M.Div. student. I am hoping to form/restart a student group dedicated to bringing in speakers from other faith traditions for learning and discussion. I’d also like to find ways to partner with other seminaries or schools to facilitate dialogue and perhaps community meals (when allowed) with leaders-in-training from other religious traditions. I’m open to lots of ideas and would love partners to help guide and form a group of leaders on this issue.
Please meet with me and others over Zoom at 2 p.m. Central Monday, October 5, to brainstorm ideas. No commitment is expected. Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/s/3751277410. The password will be included in the community announcements email. Email me at dmceachron001@luthersem.edu with any questions or ideas.

Changes to priority registration schedule and process
Notification to the Luther Seminary Community
For many years, Luther Seminary has offered priority registration to our Distributed Learning (DL) students. That practice was implemented when DL students (those admitted to our identified DL programs) were less than 15% of our student body and had a prescribed path through their programs. Without priority registration, they were considerably disadvantaged in opportunity to progress through their programs in a timely manner.
Tides have shifted over time, and DL students now account for half of Luther’s student body. In reviewing registration patterns over this past year and looking at forecasted enrollments and course needs for the coming years, it has become clear that it is time to adjust our registration priority schedule.
Therefore, beginning with the upcoming registration cycle for Winter Term, priority registration will be determined by class status (see registration site on MyLutherNet for class status designations) rather than program (with the exception of MDivX and ATE programs).
The order of priority registration will now be:
Seniors (M.A. and M.Div.), Concurrent Interns (Year 2), Affiliated, Interns, MDivX cohorts
Ph.D., Th.M.
Middlers, Concurrent Interns (Year 1)
Juniors (M.A. and M.Div.)
New Admits for Current Term
Non-Degree, Certificate
As has previously been the case, the Registrar’s Office will be closely monitoring the class standings of individual students and updating them as regularly as possible to ensure that student status is accurately listed in our systems. They will also be paying close attention to waitlists for courses and expanding or adding sections as is necessary for students to progress in their studies in a timely manner. If you are unable to register for a course you want or need, please add your name to the waitlist.
The specific dates for Winter Registration will be visible on the registration site on MyLutherNet. Please send any questions or comments regarding this change to academicdean@luthersem.edu.
(Please note that a decision regarding whether winter term courses will be online or in-person has not yet been made. Further communication will come in regard to this prior to registration opening.)
Application for Graduation
The Application for Graduation is now open on MyLutherNet for those completing their degree during the 2020–2021 academic year (September 18, 2020–August 20, 2021).
If you are planning on completing your degree this academic year and have not received the email announcement or are unable to access the application for graduation on MyLutherNet please contact the Registrar’s Office at registrar@luthersem.edu.
The nonrefundable graduation fee will be added to student accounts, for all graduating students, when fall tuition charges are run.
