Lifelong Learning/Faith+Lead Title Changes

Posted on April 7, 2020

Over the past year, the work of the Center for Lifelong Learning has transitioned with the launch of our Faith+Lead digital platform and initiatives (faithlead.luthersem.edu). Faith+Lead is now Luther Seminary’s hub for continuing education and digital resources. It connects and equips leaders to address today’s ministry challenges through events, conferences, online and in-person courses, learning communities, coaching, digital resources, the Faith+Leader blog, webinars, the Learning Lab private social network, and consulting. From now on, Luther’s lifelong learning operations will be known simply as Faith+Lead.

As part of this transition, Dawn Alitz’s title is changing to director of communities and coaching. She is working closely alongside Katie Langston, our director of digital strategy, to provide leadership, oversight, and support to the Faith+Lead team while focusing on growing our learning communities and coaching opportunities for churches and ministry leaders. Alitz is working closely with our Leadership for Faithful Innovation Lilly Grant and Faithful Innovation Learning Communities initiatives. She is overseeing the development of nondegree digital courses and modules in collaboration with faculty and other partners. She will continue to provide management support to the Festival of Homiletics.

Funding Forward Independent Study

Posted on April 7, 2020

The new director of the Stewardship Leaders Program, Grace Pomroy, is looking for students to do an independent study with her this summer, titled Funding Forward: Leading Organizations to Financial Sustainability. This course will address the struggles many organizations face in developing financial support for their mission and will consider innovative practices for guiding leaders from missional imagination to practical implementation, emphasizing the role of money in sustainable development. The outcomes of this independent study will form the foundation of a course, of the same name, to be offered in the 2021 winter term. The structure, schedule, and learning objectives of the independent study can be designed to fit the student’s unique interests. Contact Grace Pomroy at gpomroy001@luthersem.edu to learn more.
