Campus Moves Update

Move Update!

We are starting to move individuals and departments as part of the larger campus vision project which was precipitated by selling the lower campus.

Please watch the announcements on Inside Luther as well as your email box for more detailed information. Emails will be sent more regularly in the upcoming months with more information about technology as it relates to the moves in particular.

Please note that the following moves are happening before the end of the year:

November 21 – Bill Silva-Breen – Financial Aid (to OCC 204)
• The Financial Aid Office will be closed Thursday, November 21 and Friday, November 22 as they relocate to Olson Campus Center.

November 25 – Catherine Malotky – Stewardship (to BH 246)

December 2 – Contextual Learning/Candidacy (to BH237-242)
• The Contextual Learning / Candidacy Office will be closed Nov 27 prior to Thanksgiving break (Nov 28-29) and also Dec 2-3.

December 9 – Business Office (to BH 204, 205, 220)
• The Business Office will be closed Thursday, December 5 through Wednesday, December 11 as they relocate to Bockman Hall.

December 16 – Lifelong Learning (to BH 223-235)
• The Lifelong Learning Office will be closed Thursday, December 12 open as soon as they are able to after the move.

Professor Mary Hess has already moved to BH104.

Business Office Move

The Business Office will be closed Thursday, December 5th through Wednesday, December 11th as we relocate to Bockman Hall.

Communication will be very limited during this time.

As of December 2nd please hold all paperwork for the Business Office until after December 11th as to ensure nothing gets misplaced.

Please note that accounts payable will be intermittent during the month of December and payments will be delayed.

Checks will not be held or available for pick-up December 2nd through December 13th.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience during this time.

Crystal Zemlin’s office will be located in Bockman Hall #220
Tony Herrera will be in Bockman Hall #204
Gerri Stepanek will be in Bockman Hall #205

Chapel Speaker of the Day: Austen Hartke

On Tuesday Nov. 19 in Chapel, we are joined by professional speaker, Bible scholar, and Luther Seminary alum Austen Hartke, author of “Transforming: The Bible and the Lives of Transgender Christians.” His visit is in coordination with Transgender Remembrance Week, and his homily will feature the importance of testimony and new creation.

Spots Still Available for Holy Land Travel Course in Fall 2020

During Fall Semester 2020, Luther Seminary will offer the travel course “The Holy Land: Its People, Places, and Prayers” (CD 1613), taught by Prof. Matthew Skinner. The course will be built around a trip to parts of Israel and the West Bank from Monday October 26, 2020, through Friday November 6, 2020.

Spots in the travel course are limited and are being reserved now. A few spots are still available. They are open to students who will be enrolled in a seminary program in Fall Semester 2020.

COSTS (approximate, but fairly reliable estimates at this point in time):
>>> Approx. $2300 for students (those enrolled at the seminary during Fall Semester 2020), PLUS tuition for academic credit earned at Luther Seminary
>>> Approx. $4300 for nonstudents (family and friends of participating students receive priority for these limited spots; any remaining spots for nonstudents can be filled first by Luther Seminary alumni/ae)

Community Meal this Wednesday!
