The Luther Community is invited to a Bench Dedication in Memory of Rachel Coen-Tuff today at 3 pm at the Luther Seminary Waterfall Patio behind the Olson Campus Center.
Rachel Coen-Tuff, 29, believed her calling was to work with children, youth and families. She served as the minister of faith formation at Faith + Journey Lutheran Church in West Fargo, where she worked primarily with the church’s youth population providing spiritual growth and direction. Previously Rachel served in England for a year with the Young Adults in Global Mission program and attended Luther seminary in St. Paul where she earned her Masters Degree in Children, Youth, and Family Ministry (2015). Every place Rachel went she made deep, loving and lasting connections. Rachel was a unique gift to the world because she welcomed and cared for people so well. She remembered names and stories and made people feel they mattered. Rachel believed her calling was to work with children, youth, and families and those who watched her do this work knew that as well. Her faith was part of who she was. Rachel died suddenly of a pulmonary embolism last summer on July 7, 2018. Children, Youth & Family will dedicate the bench in her honor and memory.
