Seminary Relations Staffing Announcements

Posted on April 30, 2019

I have several exciting announcements to share related to staffing in seminary relations.

First, Jennifer Thiel, currently donor engagement and online communications coordinator, will be joining the integrated marketing team for Luther Seminary and Augsburg University as our new web and e-mail coordinator July 1. She will continue to be responsible for email campaigns at the seminary, while also taking on new responsibility for supporting luthersem.edu. In her new role, Jennifer will be a key player in supporting the transition of luthersem.edu to WordPress, training content managers at the seminary, and managing web content. Please join me in congratulating Jennifer!

I am also pleased to share that we have filled our Planned Giving Adviser position. Tim Larson will join our team June 1. Tim brings 17 years of gift planning experience to our operation. He has held previous gift planning positions with the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Rush University Medical Center, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He is currently the Executive Director of Outreach for Hope in Milwaukee. Tim has an MDiv from Meadville/Lombard Theological Seminary in Chicago and a religion degree from St. Olaf.

Please contact me with any questions.

High School “Preview” Event On Campus Today!

Posted on April 30, 2019

Preview is designed to celebrate emerging young leaders. It is an opportunity for pastors and other servant leaders across Minnesota to lean into discipleship and to accompany the high school students in whom they see ministerial gifts on a trip to Luther Seminary. These students will soak in the beauty, diversity and creativity of the theological formation at Luther, building up questions and tools for further conversation around discernment.

Please welcome our high school guests and their leaders on Tuesday, 4/30. They will be touring campus and then joining the Luther community at large for worship and a meal.
