Our financial lives can be stressful, but they don’t have to be. Studies show that financial health is key to overall wellness, but sometimes it’s hard to know how to take the next step. To support you and your ministry, we’re offering a new service—confidential, student-focused, and at no cost to you.
If you have $50,000 or more in educational debt, you have an opportunity to strategize with a professional to assess the impact of that debt and plan for financial health as you move into ministry. For this service, “education debt” includes loans prior to and including your time at Luther.
This program is funded by a grant from the Lilly Foundation and will cost you only time and effort. And, believe us, it will be worth your time! Simply contact Catherine Malotky (cmalotky001@luthersem.edu) if you would like to take advantage of this opportunity. Catherine will connect you with an Accredited Financial Counselor. Meetings can happen by phone or in person, and will be entirely confidential at no cost to you.
Finally, if you have lower educational debt levels but would like to connect with someone to discuss your financial health, checkout another free program supported by the ELCA’s Portico Benefit Services with LSS Financial Counseling at 800-528-2926 or lssmn.org/portico. You don’t have to be ELCA to qualify for this support!
