SOGIE Training this Saturday
Saturday, January 12th, Emmaus invites the Luther Seminary community to join us for a free SOGIE (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity or Expression) training. If you want to create a welcoming environment for LGBTQIA+ people, but you just aren’t sure where to start, this is the training for you.
Thanks to Aubrey, from ReconcilingWorks, who will be coming out to lead this training.
There will be pizza at 12:30 pm, followed by the training at 1 pm.
If you can’t make it to this training because of Internship Orientation or a travel class, no worries. If it goes well, we will schedule another training during the Spring semester or June intensives.
Final Call: Open Mic Night
Open Mic Night is scheduled for Friday, January 11th, 6-8pm. We currently only have one person signed up to share their talents. If you want to sign up to perform, please do so by Wednesday night. If we do not have at least a few people signed up by then, we will simply change the event to a social hour. There will still be tacos, beer, and wine for all on Friday night.

MDivX Update
The MDivX application deadline is coming up on January 15. In the next weeks, a group of 30-40 candidates will be selected to be brought to campus for interviews on February 11-12. Following those interviews, the first cohort of students will be admitted and will enroll on June 1.
A great deal of work has been done over the past six months. This work has included building a course sequence; working out how CPE, internship, and candidacy will be handled in this holy experiment; and building both internal capacity and external relationships.
